MAKING GRADUATE EDUCATION FINANCIALLY POSSIBLE
Our site is meant to increase
UCSF School of Nursing (SON) student solvency and sustainability through raising awareness around
internal and
external funding opportunities and providing
podcasts, guidance via the
Frequently Asked Questions, and other targeted topics in order to help our students leverage those dollars. We have added material for applicants and
prospective students as a "fiscal preventive health" strategy.
The Dean's Philosophy

Your graduate education is a gift you give yourself. Graduate study at the
UCSF School of Nursing is about expanding your horizons and creating an academic pathway to fulfill your goals.
In the course of pursing graduate study, you will discover new and enriching possibilities. Attending UCSF will change your life, advance your career, and help us meet local, national and international health care leadership challenges. We will also advance sociological knowledge and research.
There are
loan repayment options to help offset the cost of graduate education as well as
scholarships and fellowships.
Financial aid, which often consists of grants and loans, is available (even to homeowners!). There are
campus and
extramural sources to help underwrite
conference travel and
project or dissertations and
international study and practice. Every funding opportunity will be communicated here on the
Breaking News page as soon as we know about it.
Money for School, our annual seminar for RNs who are US Citizens and permanent residents, is a must-attend for new students and those transitioning into the MS or PhD program. There is targeted information for
Sociology and Behavioral Sciences students,
international students and
MEPNs. (The navigational bar, to the left of my picture may have additional hidden listings; pull down the lower bar to reveal all page links)
Please join this wiki by clicking the yellow

Breaking News page and first click "More Tools" and then "Watch this page."
The School of Nursing faculty and I want you to have the time to grow and get the most out of this rare opportunity. To this end, I would ask that you do your part by limiting your work during your program of study. For my part, I promise to aggressively pursue
new sources of funding and scholarships for our students. Together we will make a more healthy and sustainable world by supporting you in the best ways we can with the best tools in our possession.
